Licenses in Regard to Real Estate

A license is a revokable right to do an act or a series of acts relating to the real estate of another. It is granted by the person or entity who is in control of the subject real estate. This person or entity may or may not be the owner of the property.

Licenses can be oral or written, and they can be expressed or implied. Licenses do not permit exclusive possession of the real estate, and can be revoked at the will of the licensor. Once the license has been revoked, the person who once held the license will be considered a trespasser.
